Assen MotoGP: FP2 cancelled after oil spill

1 of 1

This afternoon’s practice sessions at Assen have been cancelled, following an oil spill over one third of the circuit.

Heavy rain during the first practice sessions led to many crashes, including NGM Forward Racing rider Alex Baldolini crashing out of Moto2 practice and subsequently causing the oil spill by unwittingly re-joining the session with a leaking bike.

The efforts to clean up the spillage initially delayed the start of the second 125 practice session, before the afternoon sessions were cancelled when track conditions were deemed too dangerous.
