British rider Gino Rea will race the 2014 Moto2 world championship campaign on a Suter chassis package.

The Londoner, who is spearheading the new Texas-based AGT (American Green Technology) squad, was initially down to race a British designed and built FTR frame when the provisional entry lists were revealed recently.

But former World Supersport winner and Moto2 podium finisher Rea has confirmed his new squad, which is run in conjunction with Rea Racing and World Motors Inc, will campaign the Suter frame next season.

Rea is no stranger to the Swiss-built frame after he spent the majority of his rookie Moto2 campaign in 2012 on that chassis after an early season switch from Moriwaki while with the Gresini squad.

Rea was left without a full-time ride for 2013 but refused to give up on his Grand Prix dream and a series of self-funded wild card rides while using the FTR frame helped secured him a permanent deal with AGT for ’14.

Speaking to MCN, Rea said: “I’m really pleased to be working closely with Suter again on the exciting new AGT project. My only podium in Moto2 came on the Suter and I have absolutely no doubt they will have one of the strongest and most competitive packages on the grid in 2014.

"It won’t be long before I am testing the new bike in February, so right now I am training hard and making sure everything is in place with the new AGT team for us to be challenging for the top 10 right from the first race in Qatar.

"All of us in the AGT REA Racing team are really looking forward to getting the season underway, I cannot wait."
