Sachsenring Moto3: Miller holds on to take win

KTM rider Jack Miller saw off all challengers to take victory in the Moto3 race, leading from start to finish.

The win sees the Australian extend his lead at the top of the championship as Romano Fenati – second in the championship before today – crashed out of the race.

Amrogio Racing rider Brad Binder pushed Miller to the very end, but was unable to find a way passed and had to settle for second.

The battle for third place went down to the final corner, with Alexis Masbou, Alex Marquez and Danny Kent all involved.

Marquez dived up the inside of Masbou in to the final corner, but ran wide on the exit allowing Masbou back through to claim third place. Kent finished fifth – a result which will surely boost his confidence after a difficult start to 2014.

Scotsman John McPhee started from 27th on the grid but managed to fight his way through the pack to finish in an impressive seventh place, behind team-mate Efren Vasquez.

Championship hopeful Alex Rins had a short race, falling at the second corner.
