Marc VDS Racing celebrate record-breaking 2014

It has taken just four years for the Marc VDS Racing squad to become the undisputed dominant force in the Moto2 world championship.

In a phenomenal 2014 campaign, the Belgium-based squad, run by Michael Bartholemy and bankrolled by super rich bike racing fan Marc van der Straten, smashed records galore with Tito Rabat and Mika Kallio.

The pair finished 1-2 in the final world championship rankings, and not surprisingly after completing one of the most dominant campaigns across all three classes in history; Marc VDS Racing has decided to shout about their unforgettable season.

Here’s a list that underlines just how dominant Marc VDS Racing was in the 18-round world championship campaign.
 
635 – Total number of points by the Marc VDS team in 2014 – the highest ever single season points score by a two rider team in the history of the intermediate-class of Grand Prix racing
 
346 – Tito Rabat finished the year with a total of 346 points in the Moto2 world championship, a new record highest points’ total in the intermediate-class of Grand Prix racing
