Oschersleben 8 Hours: SERT take victory as Legends finish 9th

The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team has taken victory at the Oschersleben 8 Hours, the third round of the Endurance World Championship, completing 316 laps of the German circuit to beat off championship rivals BMW Motorrad and Monster Yamaha.

Penz13.com BMW were the winners of the Superstock class, with Kent-baded TT racer Steve Mercer joining his German team on the top step of the podium at their home round.

The Honda TT Legends were back in 9th, having dropped back from a strong position when the bike ran out of fuel early in the race and John McGuinness was forced to push it back to the pits. However, after poor results at the Bol d’Or and Suzuka the team ahve secured their first points of the 2013 championship.

The championship concludes with the Le Mans 24 hour race on the 21st and 22nd of September. The SERT team have a slender lead in the championship from YART, and with 24 hours of racing left the championship is still wide open.
