MCN at the TT

MCN will once again be represented by our very own senior road tester Adam Chad Child as he takes on the demanding 37 ¾ mile mountain course for the third year in a row. Adam will be competing in both the Monster Energy Supersport races and the Lightweight race. Chad enjoyed a successful debut at the TT in 2012, which was followed by a top 30 result in 2013.

This year Chad has teamed up with the successful Bournemouth Kawasaki team in the Monster Energy Supersport class, partnering Lightweight race winner and lap record holder James Hillier. Chad will be riding a similar bike to Hillier, in two demanding four lap races, but on a lower spec Kawasaki ZX6R. The MCN ZX-6R will have similar K-Tech suspension and set up, but with a low spec standard engine. Starting number 93 our MCN senior road tester is hoping to move up the ranks, but it’s a huge task on the most demanding track in the world.

“I’ve had four starts at the TT and four respectable finishes, each lap I’m getting faster and faster, learning all the time and with help from the team, and Hillier, I’m hoping to break the 115mph barrier and get closer to the magical 120mph target.”
Our MCN boy will also be competing in the Lightweight race on his own Kawasak ER6N, with help from Ken Urwin Motorcycles. Last year Chad came away with a top 30 result in this very competitive class and will also be competing at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, at the Spring Cup in preparation for the TT.

You’ll be able to follow his exploits in MCN, online and via social media as he takes on the best riders in the world around the dangerous 37 ¾ mile track. MCN will have unique unprecedented access as one of our team takes on the TT course. We will be covering every aspect from personal fitness and bike preparation, to the actual races and fingers crossed celebrations, but uniquely from our MCN road tester on the grid brushing shoulders with the world’s best, not from a desk in a press room. You’ll also be able to contact Chad and follow his progress each day at the TT via his MCN video diary.

Check out Chad’s first video diary online now from his first test on the Ken Urwin Lightweight bike.
