Jonathan Rea is scheduled to ride Casey Stoner’s Honda RCV212V in a two day test at Sepang starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

The current Ten Kate Honda WSB rider flew from Australia to Malaysia on Sunday and has spent today meeting with the Honda MotoGP team fixing his handlebar and footrest position in preparation for the test.

Rea will be joined by Japanese rider and Suzuka 8-hour team-mate Kousuke Akiyoshi. The aim of the test is to give Rea a taste of riding a factory MotoGP bike with the 23 year old widely tipped to become a full time MotoGP rider in 2012.

The test will also give Honda the opportunity to carry out valuable endurance testing with a competitive rider while the current MotoGP testing ban is in place. The testing ban prevents any contracted MotoGP rider from testing between 1st December 2010 and 31st January 2011.
