Effenbert Ducati confirm Moscow round absence

The three man Effenbert Liberty Racing team confirmed today that they will not be competing in the forthcoming Russian round of the World Superbike Championship.

Team management have cited the need to focus on restructuring the teams efforts for the remainder of the 2012 season and in to 2013.

The decision will also save a significant part of the budget due to the high cost of travelling to Russia, the costs whilst there and the fact that the race weekend is preceded by a one day teat at the all new Moscow Raceway circuit.

It’s a bitter blow for the team’s number one rider Jakub Smrz who currently sits 12th in the championship standings and fast Frenchman Maxime Berger.

The team’s absence also has a detrimental effect on grid numbers with the provisional entry list for the Russian race listing just 20 riders.
