Road surface in test areas

I am doing my test in a couple of weeks time so I went to my local centre to see what way it was set up and run.

It had been a wet morning but the sun had come out and dried most of the test area but trees had prevented a spot from drying out. The candidate was carrying out the emergency stop and had failed to reach the required speed and was sent back to try again.

As he approached the second time the signal was given and he seemed to be stopping ok but the front wheel went from below him on the wet patch.

I heard he may have fractured his wrist. I must admit it has made me think a bit as the surface is that red finished tarmac, I have been practicing on the rougher surface stuff.
