Why is my Bandit 1250's exhaust popping?

1 of 1

Q. I bought my 2008 Suzuki Bandit 1250SA new and I like everything except the massive end can. I replaced this with a twin outlet road legal can from Banditmania which looks and sounds great.

The problem is that when I roll off the throttle to slow for junctions or lights I get some popping from the new end can.

Should I just ignore this or should I get someone to look further into why this is happening? I don’t want to risk any long term damage to my bike.

A. When you change the end can or link pipes on a system you have to make sure all the joints are properly sealed. Silicon sealant is the cheapest option.

If it’s not an airtight seal, then the bike will be sucking in cold air on the overrun causing it to pop and bang as you describe.
