The bike you voted Worst-Looking of 2002

1 of 1

Call it brave, call it challenging, call it controversial…but more often than not motorcyclenews.com users simply call it ugly…

Ducati’s MultiStrada has been voted the Worst-Looking Bike of 2002 in a poll conducted on our TALK BIKES (TALK NEWS) bulletin board. It took an overwhelming 72.5 per cent of the total cast with the next closest bike getting just 17.3 per cent.

Ducati’s Pier-Francesco Caliari, said ” We are disappointed people feel this way about the MultiStrada, but it is one of those bikes which most people will like when they see it in the flesh. ”

” We are trying to do something very different. It was shown this year to gauge reaction before it goes on sale in 2003. ”

That suggests there may be a few changes to come before it goes into production.

The runner up is Honda’s new VFR800. The fact that the VFR also polled 6.3 per cent of the vote in our Best-Looking Bike of 2002 poll illustrates the point that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Even the MultiStrada picked up 3 per cent of the votes in the Best Looking bike category. And Aprilia’s Blue Marlin, which topped the vote in the Best Looking class notched 6.9 per cent of the vote for the ugliest.
