Piaggio tests 750cc…scooter

Piaggio is testing a superbike-sized 750cc V-twin scooter which it hopes to launch later this year. Disguised as an X9 500 at this stage, the new bike runs a smaller version of the four-valve single-overhead cam 850cc motor which MCN exclusively tested in a Raptor frame and chassis last month.

It is not known if the new prototype uses a conventional gearbox or a new twist-and-go system that Piaggio is known to be developing.
