Rider’s blind faith at 150mph

1 of 1

Reckon you could ride this at 150mph? In a blindfold? With earplugs in?

Graham Hicks is both blind and deaf, but he’ll be aiming to pilot this Super Blackbird-based device to a new world record this May.

Hicks’ machine uses the chassis from a Honda TRX quad, chopped in two then re-welded around the 1137cc Blackbird engine. It even uses the dash, controls, fairing and rear-end from the 176mph super-tourer.

Hicks – or G-force as he is known – will need a brave passenger.

” I’ll need clear directions at those speeds, ” he explains. ” The Kangaroo Kid, Matt Coulter, will be on the back – if he’s got the balls for it! ”

They’ll use a simple system of touches and squeezes to keep on the straight and narrow.
