Win a dream job with MCN

1 of 1

Fancy landing the job of a lifetime with MCN, the chance to ride the best bikes in the world – and get paid for it? Read on…

At the end of a massive talent search, the result of a huge public phone vote is read out, and a winner declared… the gutted losers cry into their beer, while the victor looks ahead to a future brighter and more exciting than he thought possible, a contract in the back pocket and stardom beckoning.

This isn’t the closing stages of the next series of Popstars, it’s the culmination of MCN’s Road Test Idol competition, which could see you win a job as a road tester here at MCN. Yes, we mean it… we’re putting one of the most desirable jobs in motorcycling up for grabs, and in six weeks time one lucky reader will be able to turn their back on their current life to become a fully-trained, fully paid journalist and test rider. No catches.

Reckon it could be you? All you have to do is fill in the entry form on the right, complete four tests better than anyone else and bingo – if the public like you, you’re MCN’s next road tester.

We don’t care if you’ve never had anything published – we’ll train you – we just want talented people who know their bikes and can tackle the job of riding the newest and best of them week in, week out for the biggest bike publication in the world. All we ask is you can start with us at the end of September.

Don’t think too long about it – the deadline for us receiving your entry is Thursday August 22.

Once the best contenders have been selected from the initial entry (click on the link on the right to print your form – you MUST use either this form or the one printed in the August 14 issue of MCN) they will face four tests.

Send it to: Road Test Idol, MCN, Media House, Lynchwood, Peterborough PE2 6EA.

Beware though, deadlines are critical to newspapers, and you will need to keep a close eye out for them when you enter… time is of the essence.

After each test, those failing to reach the pass mark will be out of the competition until eventually there are just three people remaining.

MCN readers will then vote on which should be their new road tester. The four tests, one a week for four weeks, will be:

*Bike knowledge – this will be a written test, looking at bike recognition and mechanical detail and understanding.

*Writing potential – to see what you’re like with an empty page in front of you.

*Road riding – a practical test, judged by MCN’s leading road testers.

*Track riding – the final test, judged by an expert racer.

Then it will be up to you, the readers, to decide.
