motorcyclenews.com goes racing

1 of 1

After talking (and writing) the talk at motorcyclenews.com for nearly 18 months, Dave Batchelor, the site’s sub-editor, get his big chance to prove himself in his debut race this Sunday, June 23, at Snetterton.

He’s entered in the Rookie 400s, a class for four-cylinder 400cc machines (and occasionally 250 two-strokes) for novice racers.

Batchelor’s riding a Honda VFR400 NC30, carrying number 87, so don’t forget to cheer, or jeer, when you see him.

We’ve got our own suspicions about the quality of Batchelor’s riding, but you can win yourself a prize if you predict his placings in the two races.

If you think, like most of the office, it’s double DNF then send your entry to daniel.thornton@emap.com with ” Dave B – DNF, DNF ” , or (in the unlikely event) ” Dave B – 1st, 1st ” – put the result from race one first.

We’ll have a scout around the office and pull out a suitable prize for the winner, picked at random and we’ll tell you how he got on, on Monday, June 24.

If you fancy joining us for a good laugh at Batchelor’s expense, there’s a gang of us leaving from the office on Sunday morning. We’re leaving MCN at 10am for the circuit. Our address is Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, P’boro (Nr. East of England Showground). For more details e-mail Daniel as above.
