Lost: two £30,000 KTMs

Ever spent a relaxing day on the beach only to find at the end of the day you’ve lost a few quid or your keys in the sand?

Well spare a thought for KTM, which mislaid two £30,000 rally bikes in the Sahara.

The 660cc singles were fitted with global positioning systems, but even this didn’t help the search crews.

After evacuating their camp during a sandstorm, they returned to find nothing but a 200ft sand dune.
