Piaggio plans Big B-rother to X9

This summer scooter giant Piaggio will unveil another big scoot based on its 460cc X9.

Called the Big B or B500, it will use the same single-cylinder four-stroke motor and boast similar performance at around 39bhp.

Both will sell for around £4500 in the UK and only the funkier styling of the new machine will separate them.

For some reason Piaggio decided against releasing the Big B in the UK with its Continent-wide name – Beverly. Strange that.
