Bennetts campaign to cut bike thefts

Bennetts insurers aim to cut motorcycle thefts with their ‘Stop the Stripping!’ campaign.

It aims to persuade bike manufacturers to mark individual parts during new bike registration, making it harder to break bikes for stolen parts.

The company will be taking a petition to major events over the next year, which will then be presented to bike firms and MPs. It already has the support of Metropolitan Police vehicle crime expert Ken German, who says ” Any form of parts markings will lead to an improvement in identification and recovery. ”
