Barry Sheene has confirmed to MCN, he definitely WILL appear at the Goodwood Revival on September 6-8 despite battling cancer, and he’ll even line-up for the two Lennox Cup classic races.

The two-time world 500cc world champion was in typical bullish form when we spoke to him. He said: ” I’m not going to let f****** cancer going to get in the way of enjoying myself.

” Good wood is a great event – and although I’m not exactly at full fitness, I’m really looking forward to coming over. ”

You can read more about Barry’s fight against cancer in our exclusive interview with him in the latest issue of MCN, out Wednesday September 4.

Barry, who was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and oesophagus in June, will take his place alongside other Grand Prix greats like Wayne Gardner and Freddie Spencer on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8.

The Revival is held at Lord March’s estate Goodwood House near Chichester, West Sussex between September 6-8. Tickets can be bought on-line at www.goodwood.co.uk For more details call 01243-755000.
