Record revenue for Harley-Davidson

1 of 1

Harley-Davidson have announced record revenue of $4.1 billion for last year, a 20% increase from 2001.

Last year was the 17th consecutive year of record revenue and net income for the American company. Net income for the year was $580 million, a 32.5 percent increase. 263,653 bikes were shipped in 2002, up 12.5%, and Harley aim to top this in 2003, with a production goal of 289,000. Sales increased around the world, including the U.S. (18.3%), Europe (7.6%) and Japan (5.9%).

Some of the sales can be attributed to the company celebrating its 100th anniversary, but after 17 years of increasing profits, it seems unlikely Harley is going to stop now.
