1 of 1

The Metropolitan police will be holding an anti-theft roadshow on Wednesday July 16.

It’s in response to the high levels of superbike theft in London, and will be sponsored by Data-Tag.

In May 2003, 143 high performance bikes were reported stolen in London, including 23 R6s and 19 R1s. Many stolen bikes are now being used for smash-and-grab robberies. Bike thefts in Great London account for around a quarter of the total for the whole country a total involving over £40 million-worth of machinery.

Other security firms will be attending, and security measures such as ground anchors will be on display. There will also be prizes up for grabs from Data-Tag.

The first ” Lock it or thumb it ” roadshow takes place from 7.30pm on July 16, on the Albert Embankment near to Metropolis Motorcycles.
