First ride on the Aprilia Tuono Racing

1 of 1

Aprilia has launched a tweaked ‘Racing’ version of its RSV1000 Tuono, with a factory race kit included with the bike.

In its road legal version, the Tuono Racing makes 130bhp at the crank, utilising the ignition and fuel-injection from the RSV1000 Mille R. Fitting the factory race kit takes the power to 132bhp, with a titanium end-can losing 7.2kg from the bike’s weight.

You also get Ohlins race-spec suspension, Brembo brakes, and carbon-fibre bodywork.

MCN’s road tester Trevor Franklin rode the bike at the Vavano circuit in Northern Italy, and came back impressed. ” It feels incredibly fast and powerful. The impression of superbike speed is due in part to the naked nature of the bike which makes it feel all the more manic. ”
