Hizzy memorial track day

Stamford Superbikes will be holding a Steve Hislop memorial track day next week at Cadwell Park, with top superbike riders on hand to give on-track tuition.

Hislop was a regular instructor on the shop’s annual celebrity track day so when he died earlier this year it was decided to hold the event in his memory.

This year’s event, held on Tuesday September 16, will see Rizla Suzuki riders John Reynolds and Tom Sykes along with Niall McKenzie and Scott Smart giving riding tuition on the full circuit.

There will also be a parade lap of the track with Hizzy’s 1998 Yamaha Cadbury’s Boost bike, Jeremy McWilliam’s GP Aprila 250, John Reynold’s 1999 Reve Red Bull Ducati, an IOM Honda RC30, and a works Suzuki RG 500 all putting on a show.

To take part in the track day will cost £115 but everyone is welcome to go along and watch and meet the stars for a £5 donation. In exchange you’ll get a voucher for the all-day barbecue.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Steve Hislop Memorial Fund. For more information contact Stamford Superbikes on 01780-481700 or just turn up on the day.
