150mph Deafblind rider

Deafblind Graham Hicks is aiming to smash his existing Guinness quad world speed record of 104mph on his Super Blackbird-based quad at RAF Wittering on Saturday (August 14).

He’s targeting 150mph with Cambridgeshire PC Brian Sharman riding pillion and directing Graham using a highly developed touch based signalling system.

Graham’s achievements include the 2004 Variety Award for ‘Outstanding Courage’ and Guinness world records for the fastest speed on a quadbike and the greatest distance on a jetski (from England to Holland).

Graham said: “I’m really looking forward to getting out there and pulling out all the stops to set a brand new world record!”
