Dream weekend winner

One www.motorcyclenews.com reader has won VIP hospitality at the Assen round of World Superbikes, courtesy of the Fila Ducati team, by describing his idea of his dream motorcycling weekend.

We asked you to post on our boards with your visions of the ideal biking weekend and Paul Prior provided inspiration with his winning entry:

“Money no object, it has to be a Honda RC 211V. Maybe I could buy Sete’s bike and get it set up properly?? For a perfect weekend I would like to meet up with the Honda technicians at Mugello and just ride round till I had blistered palms. Stopping for lunch (Hence Mugello for the Italian food) and calls of nature only. It would be nice although not essential if Colin Edwards could join me (Top Bloke) and that would be the perfect/ultimate weekend. Anyway, it’s time to stop daydreaming now and get back to the reality of a typical wet weekend in Wales dodging mobile speed cameras and sheep for fun!”

Two runners-up will receive signed Fila Ducati memorabilia from the race weekend.

The first is motorbike_lovin_guy:

“As I’m turning 17 soon I would have to say it would be a Cagiva Mito Evo 125cc, race exhaust but road legal of course in race-rep Telefonica colours and the Isle of Man (deserted, otherwise to scary) pinging off the rev limiter to redline every gear with a couple of mates (i wish) such as David Jefferies (RIP the best), John McGuinness, a younger Carl Fogarty and the usuals; Rossi, Sete, Hodgson and Chilli all on there race bikes. Then pulling in to a cafe having something to eat and then going off for a few hot laps of the course with everyone cheering and clapping then staying in a 5 star hotel and getting the best view from a helicopter to watch the TT. Just a dream i know but would be the best weekend of my LIFE!!!!!! P.S then goin home on the monday with signed memorabilia from all the riders just to top it off. only to get back to reality where i have to go to work and college *YAY*.”

And finally snapesbabe will also be getting signed goodies for this idea:

“I think I’d have to have a Sprint ST in Aston Green. Not too distant a dream, perhaps, but the dream would be in the riding. Politicians would declare that motorbikes are to be applauded as safe and environmentally friendly, and that in order for a driving license to remain valid all car drivers must take CBT (so they can see what they put us through). This would mean that idiot car drivers would be less likely to get in my way or cause me a hazard… In fact, if I’m dreaming, all the car drivers would wave and smile as I went past them, and not one of them would be unhappy with their lot as slower and less manoeuvrable than me. The roads would be relatively clear, but not too clear. There would be some fast blats up the A1, and then some meandering round the beautiful Yorkshire Dales I call my home at very slow speeds, admiring the scenery.

Basically, my dream would be to do mostly what I do already, but without anyone being upset by the fact that I’m doing it, or trying to stop me. ”

If you’d like even more inspiration to get out on your bike, read the other entries here.

And if you weren’t lucky this time, you could still win VIP tickets to the next British Superbike round, a £190 datalogger, a set of tyres, or an Oxford sports rucksack.
