Akrapovic launches ZX-10R range

If 150+bhp isn’t enough for you, Akrapovic has launched a range of new systems for the 2004 Kawasaki ZX-10R, which offer increases of up to 11.2Bhp over the stock figure.

You can choose between the stainless steel header tubes of the Racing system or the titanium tubes of the Evolution 1 version.

The systems are produced using the same Hydroforming technique as the ’04 GSX-R range featured on motorcyclenews.com on February 6, 2004. The firm claim the Evolution 1 system will give a maximum 11.2bhp increase at the rear wheel (at 12,500rpm). It also raises the power to 165.5bhp at 11,900rpm, from the stock figure of 158.4bhp at 11880rpm.

The systems also offer more power and torque at the top end of the rev range, beginning at 5,000rpm. And there’s also an Evolution 2 system for competition use, but only for championships and tracks which allow louder exhaust systems, as it is rated at 107db.

A range of slip-on silencers are set to follow. The Racing system costs £886, while the Evolution System is £1210. For more details call Performance Parts Ltd on 01788-869100.

The Hawk Kawasaki team will be using Akrapovic to help their British Superbike campaign on the ZX-10R in 2004.
