Woman dies after Bassetts Pole crash

A woman died and four people were injured as a result of a bike colliding with onlookers at the Bassetts Pole bike meet on the Warwickshire-Staffs border on Tuesday night (May 18).

The woman died today (Wednesday) as a result of injuries sustained.

The Bassetts Pole area attracts hundreds of spectators on Tuesday nights to drink in the atmosphere and watch the bikes in action.

Police say the incident happened close to the McDonald’s. An investigation is under way and police are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those who may have video of the accident.
