Honda India row calmed

The industrial dispute which brought production to a halt at a Honda plant in India has been calmed with the signing of an agreement between workers and managers, on Friday, August 1.

The protest at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Limited at Manesar in India’s Gurgaon district was over wages, an attempt to reinstate suspended staff and compensation for a dead worker.

Last Monday protestors clashed with police resulting in hundreds of injuries, according to India’s ‘The Hindu’ newspaper.
