Get riding this weekend

1 of 1

There is some great riding weather heading our way this weekend and plenty of reasons to get out on your bike and enjoy it.

Get yourself up to Scarborough on Saturday and Sunday to catch some of the maddest racing you’ll see in the UK. The Cock o’ the North races are the closest thing you’ll find to Irish road racing without crossing the sea and it all takes place on the Olivers Mount ciruit.

You get 12 races over the two days, with many TT and Irish road races in attendance, as well as big parades of classic bikes.

You could also try the Sheene Run, which is taking place in Rugby town centre on Sunday. The event is expected to be the biggest bike parade in 2005 with loads of cavalcades trailing through the town centre.

There will be 13 of Barry Sheene’s race bikes being ridden at the event plus numerous owners clubs and as many as 200 other race bikes.

There is a massive open day at P&H Motorcycles in Crawley (0871-4348912) with the chance to meet stars such as Troy Corser, Shane Byrne and Chris Walker as well aas grab some massive savings on kit and bikes.

Or if custom bikes are more your thing then head to the Thunder City custom shop in Leeds (01132-406332), where they are holding a free custom show with hundreds of modified cruisers turning up to show off some of the shops impressive bike building talents.

If you don’t fancy any of that and just want to get out and ride this weekend then why not check out our Recommended roads forum where you can check the best roads in the UK or post your own suggestion.
