Bikers are healthier

New research has found that bikers are a lot healthier than the average person, with only a minority thinking about lighting up a cigarette when they take off their crash helmet.

Insurance company Choice Quote gathered the data from over 60,000 motorcyclists over the last three years and it shows clearly that only 5 percent of riders are smokers compared to a national average of 26 per cent.

The news follows on from the story published in MCN last month, which showed that biking itself is actually good for you.

Riding relieves stress and makes you happy by releasing endorphins in to your brain, riding a twisty road for an hour can burn over 350 calories and the movements you make on a bike are actually good for strengthening you back muscles – reducing the chance of injury.
