MBE for MCI boss

Geoff Sherley, MCI’s Chief Executive, has been honoured with a MBE for the groundbreaking “Skidz” motor project in High Wycombe.

Geoff is a trustee of the project which helps young people learn about motor mechanics and safer driving and riding.

Skidz opening in 1998, and since has seen a huge number of people pass through the course learning valuable skills, and even continuing into a career as mechanics.

One individual who passed through the doors of Skidz was rewarded with a rare apprenticeship with German car giants Porsche.

Sherley said, “The award came a a complete surprise and I am obviously delighted to achieve such recognition for my work with young people.

“I am a firm believer in youth education and in my work with the MCI I have been able to support a range of initiatives.”
