Romanian president undergoes surgery following bike crash

Romanian Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu is to undergo surgery today (23 November) to repair injuries to his knee from a July bike crash. 
His bike collided with a car earlier this year, and he is to have a ruptured meniscus and ligaments repaired today in an operation expected to take several hours. 
He will remain in control of the country and is to return home on Sunday.
