Whether you like American custom styles or not, it’s impossible to deny the DuSold designs Triumph Rocket III grabs attention.
The 2300cc Triumph Rocket III engine is barely recognisable under a coat of blue and turquoise paint, and the long, muted standard exhaust pipes are replaced with short open pipe that snake down from the motorcycle’s exhaust ports.
Unbelievably, custom motorcycle builder Mike DuSold’s one-off frame actually creates space around the huge engine, making the power plant look small (in pictures at least).
The forks are typically raked out, and hold a set of less typical rim-mounted brakes and a one-off machined alloy wheel.
Rear suspension is taken care of by an air bag (derived from the custom car scene, allowing the motorcycle to be lowered and raised by using inboard compressors and air relief valves.
Drive is passed to the rear wheel by a chain (connected to the gearbox by a long output shaft, which also has a disc and brake caliper mounted upon it).
The motorcycle is finished with typical flamboyant custom motorcycles design – a multitude of airbrushed colours, designs and motifs, but less chrome than you might expect.
