Motorcycle police officer killed in motorcade

A motorcycle officer escorting Hillary Clinton in her motorcade through Dallas has died after he crashed while escorting her.

Senior Corporal Victor Lozada’s motorcycle careered head first into a concrete block after he tried overtaking the motorcade round a corner.

Apparently he was not able to make the corner and ran up the pavement and into a viaduct.

Two similar accidents have also happened in the last two years. In November 2006 a motorcycle police officer was killed in a motorcade in Hawaii.

A couple of months prior to that, in August 2006, a police officer was killed in President Bush’s motorcade in Albuquerque.

Hillary Clinton has postponed her Rally in respect of the officer and his family.
