A nuclear power firm has become the latest major employer to ban staff from riding bikes.

Magnox Electric Ltd told all staff members: “The use of motorbikes for travelling on company business is prohibited with immediate effect.”

The internal company memo, seen by MCN, added: “Staff needing to travel on company business… must travel by car.”

The memo, dated June 3, said the move followed a road traffic accident involving a member of staff.

MCN was awaiting a comment from Magnox Electric.

We revealed previously that major firms including multinational Johnson Controls Ltd had banned staff from riding on company business.
