New race-spec X-Lite and Nolans released

Helmets worn by some of the biggest stars in the racing world this season will be available to buy in 2009 after X-Lite announced at the Intermot show in Cologne last week that they are putting the X-802 replica helmets, as worn by Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo, into general production in 2009.

The X802 Replica will be placed above the X-801RR, previously X-Lite’s top specification helmet.

Expected to cash in around the £300 mark, the X-802 has been through development with a number of riders in the MotoGP and WSB paddocks. And as a result, the Replica line celebrates four of the top motorcycle racers currently in the world: Stoner, Lorenzo, Marco Melandri and Carlos Checa.

The shell shape has gone under slight modification, still using a tri-composite shell. But the big reported changes are with the weight, 1300grams, an improved ventilation system with six adjustable slim-lined vents and a range of different check-pad insert fitments.

X-Lite say the new helmet, available in the four race replica schemes and a plain black scheme, will be available in February 2009, however a final price is not yet disclosed.
