American custom builders headline Yokohama Show

The 18th annual Mooneyes Hot Road and Custom Show at Yokohama is the biggest event of the year for the custom bike enthusiasts in Japan. 650 motorcycles. 250 cars. 220 trade stands. 15,000 fans.

The guest list included: Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, actress Candy Clark as “Debbie” from the original motion picture, American Graffiti! Sculptor Jeff Decker. Artist Keith Weesner,

Roland Sands made a typical rolling burn-out entrance to the ride-in show on No Regrets. 

Cole Foster, of the Salinas Boys, was there with his new Yamaha SR500-based custom. A bike that’s not available in the States but enjoys cult status among chopper builders in Japan.

Kutty Notebloom – of Hippy Killer Garage and star of the biker flick Choppertown – appeared with his dragster-inspired chopper ‘Plum Smuggler’.

Danny from Hard Nine Choppers in Switzerland, showed his BMX-inspired flathead Harley ‘DMX’ with Skyway-style wheels and knobby tyres.

As well as hosting an incredible show, they do an awesome range of hot rod and custom bike parts – as well as the koolest tee-shirts on the planet!
