Best ‘modern classics’ in Bikemart this week

1 of 4

Fancy a classic project, winter hack or modern classic? Here’s four of the best spotted in MCN Bike mart this week.

’95 Gilera Nordwest 600, £500
Pioneering factory supermoto was years ahead of its time and well-specced. Fickle, though

We say: Rare, fun and sure-fire future classic. Despite 17K this looks a bargain.

’93 Honda GB500TT, £3650
Retro-styled single designed for Japanese home market, so rare. Classy, charming and considered best of the breed.

We say: Pastiche of ‘50s Brit bikes but a good one with modern creature comforts. This one’s mint, hence price.

’85 Honda XL250, £1195
Straightforward, early monoshock, air-cooled trailie. Rugged, reliable, and becoming desireable again.

We say: Yet to gain appeal (or inflated prices) of earlier ‘70s twin shocks, but more useful and cheaper.

’78 Yamaha XS500, £995
Sensible ‘70s four-stroke twin overshadowed by racier RD strokers. Worthy but unexciting.

We say: Which makes it an odd choice to restore. Rare in this condition but limited appeal.
