New R&G track day essentials

R&G Racing has just launched an assortment of blanking plates and some new kneesliders. Many track day (and some road) riders remove the bikes’ mirrors in order not to damage them or be distracted by using them.

With mirrors that double as a mounting point for the fairing, R&G Mirror Blanking Plates are a neat way to cover the unsightly holes left and retain a securely mounted fairing.

Machined from solid aluminium complete with the R&G Racing lozenge logo, these can be fitted to a bike in seconds.

Initially available for the BMW S1000 RR (£29.99) and Kawasaki ZX-6R 2009-10 (£34.99), additional fitments for popular machines are due shortly.

R&G’s rear footrest blanking plates simply bolt over the void left when you take off your pillion pegs where an exhaust hanger isn’t required. These plates cost £64.99 a pair and are currently only available for the Yamaha FZ8 and Kawasaki ZX-6R (2009-on).

The firm’s kneesliders have been updated with a new nylon compound claimed to give a better wear rate than before, while retaining decent ‘feel’.

The backing has also been changed, to give a more secure fit against leathers. They’re available in black or white, and cost £24.99 a pair.
