Day of Champions?

We had all been looking forward to this year’s Day of Champions ride in – to be amongst the first to actually ride the new GP track – what a joy!

We always use the day to kick start our GP weekend. Everything seemed so much better this year – better organisation of the ride in, better laps of the track, the entertainment was better.

Imagine our disappointment when it came time for the afternoon pit walk. How many garages were open with bikes on display? ZERO!

We were told by an official that they wouldn’t be opening for the afternoon at all. We left feeling cheated and ripped off (and we were not the only ones) having spent £60 (£40 for the pit lane walk) to see nothing but silver garage doors.

Apparently if we had bought a morning ticket for £30 they were all open and riders were there signing posters etc.

Suffice it to say – we will NOT be doing the Day of Champions next year!
