Speeding biker fingered

A motorcyclist has been fined after giving a speed camera the finger because his mates said he wouldn’t get caught.

Paul Collins, 26, was caught when police recognised him on the same road.

The case has led to reports that he was riding without a number plate. In fact the speed camera was front facing so couldn’t read his number plate.

Collins, from Fareham, Hampshire, pleaded guilty on Monday to speeding at 48mph in a 30mph zone in Southampton in October.

He was fined £177 and given five points at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.
Pc Mick Gear, from Hampshire Police, said: “When we visited him at home, the rider admitted the offence, telling us his mates told him he wouldn’t get caught.”
