Riders for Health are offering the unique chance to meet ‘King’ Kenny Roberts and Steve Parrish for a drink and an informal chat on Friday 8 July at the Leicester Marriott Hotel. What’s more, you will be raising money for Riders for Health.

All you have to do to is visit Riders for Health’s online shop at www.riders.org to purchase a ticket. Tickets, priced at £100 each, are available in very limited numbers and cannot be bought anywhere else. Photo identification is required to pick up your ticket from the venue. For more information please email jwragg@riders.org.

Lucky ticket holders will be able to quiz the pair in the bar at the Leicester Marriot Hotel from 7.00pm and no questions are off limits!

Kenny and Steve will also be joined by Isle of Man TT winner Graeme Crosby. All three ex-racers will be in the area for The Vintage Motorcycle Club’s Festival of a Thousand Bikes at Mallory Park on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July. Roberts will be riding an ex-works Yamaha OW60 at the event, his first public appearance at a UK circuit since 1983.

All money raised from the sale of these exclusive tickets will directly support Riders for Health’s lifesaving work in Africa. The charity mobilises health workers with reliable motorcycles and trains them in basic maintenance so that they can reach rural communities with health care on a regular basis.

Over the weekend, Riders for Health will also host a special book signing with Roberts, Steve Baker and the author of the book, Peter Starr.

Taking It To The Limit – 20 years of Making Motorcycle Movies is a coffee table book with its own DVD that documents the 40 motorcycle films Starr made from 1973.

It includes footage of Roberts, who Starr has probably filmed more than anyone, and Steve Baker who Starr filmed when he won the Race of the Year at Mallory Park in 1976.

Times for the signings can be obtained from the Riders for Health booth and from the show organizers. A proportion of the proceeds from the book sales will go to Riders for Health.
