An XJR that RoCkS

Published: 13 September 2013

This is the latest stunning cafe racer from the Portuguese outfit it RoCkS bikes.

Called Sunburn, the bike is based around a 1997 Yamaha XJR1200. Builders Osvaldo & Alexandre set to work with a mission to reduce the XJR's weight and size, throwing away pretty much every part of the bike except for the engine, a small part of the frame and the swingarm. By the time they’d completed the bike they’d taken it from a lardy 233kg down to a svelte 200kg.

Performance upgrades include a custom air filter, velocity stacks, PWR oil cooler and a very loud handmade stainless steel exhaust, with wrapped header pipes. Power is claimed to be up 12-15 bhp over a stock XJR motor.

The great news for anyone in the south east of the UK is that Sunburn will be appearing at the Bikeshed Event on October 4/5 in Shoreditch alongside around 60 other mouthwatering cafe racers and customs.
