Custom Scouts debut Stateside

Indian’s return of the iconic Scout has already been creating a storm of interest, and two hot customiaed versions which broke cover in the States this week will only add to the interest.

Custom builder and Bonneville Flats land speed record holder Karlee Cobb of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles created ‘Outrider’, inspired by the rough and ready attitude of the new model. Outrider is intended to boost the attitude of the 100bhp sportster, with a design Klock Werks hope will inspire home custom builders.

The other, dubbed ‘Scout 42’, was designed by John Shope, the owner of custom shop Dirty Bird. The Scout has long been recognised for its sporting heritage framed by racing wins, world records and performances on the fabled Wall of Death. The work doen on John’s Scout 42 was intended to highlight that sporting legacy, while not detracting from its core essence.

Both bikes will be on display in the US only for the reminder of the 2015 IMS tour, but are sadly not coming to the UK. However, the Scout itself is now on UK shores – so you could simply build your own piece of Indian exotica.
