Rossi’s rally car up for auction

1 of 7

A Subaru Impreza driven by both Valentino Rossi and Colin McRae, is to be sold at Duxford auction next week (14 Oct). You’ll need deep pockets if you want to buy it though as it’s expected to fetch between £175-200,000.

Rossi piloted the vehicle successfully in 1999 when he entered the Rally di Monza and finished eighth overall. The car was developed by Colin McRae throughout his championship winning 1996 season, and on its debut race in 1997 it won in the hands of Piero Latti, who would later go on to help Subaru win a third consecutive manufacturers’ title.

It has extensive rallying history and has been restored to its original condition with no expense spared including super-rare SRT parts. It produces an impressive 300bhp and 347lbft of torque from a force-fed 1994cc engine.

The auction is to take place next Wednesday (14 Oct) at The Imperial War Museum, Duxford. For further details on the vehicle, and to view the listing, click here.
