Bolting together this Ducati is so easy a 10-year-old can do it

Ducati have signed a licensing deal with the people behind Meccano to create a series of bolt-up bike models.

First Ducati in the Meccano Build and Play series is this Monster 1200S model, which in some ways looks even cooler than the bike itself.

The kits are created to introduce a little realism, with working steering, sprung suspension and a functioning kickstand.

The Monster 1200 has 290 individual parts and Meccano say kids from the age of 10 will be able to build it up.

In a string of words that sound highly unlikely to have emerged from a human mouth in one go, Meccano Global President Ben Gadbois said: “The Meccano Monster 1200 S model has the unmistakable design and distinguishing features that visibly communicates the sophistication, timeless quality and uniqueness of a Ducati.”

Meccano haven’t announced a price for the kits, but we’ve found them available to order from UK toy retailers for £30-£40.
