A2 Triumphs now available in the UK

The full range of Triumph’s A2-compliant bikes are now available in the UK, including the Street Triple S and 900cc Street range.

New for this year, the standard Street Triple S is powered by the same 765cc engine as the top of the range Street Triple RS, although it’s detuned to 111bhp. To make the Street Triple S A2 licence friendly Triumph have produced a completely different version, which sees the new 765cc engine replaced by an engine derived from the old 675cc lump.

The new A2-friendly engine has a completely new bore and stroke of 76 x 48.48mm, taking it from 675cc to 660cc with a power output of 94bhp, allowing it to meet regulations for restriction to 47bhp. This A2 friendly model is supplied restricted by the factory, and Triumph dealers can derestrict the bike once riders gain their full licence.

Triumph’s A2 range is completed by the retro Street range, which includes the Street Cup, Street Scrambler and Street Twin.

All three bikes from the Street range use the same 900cc parallel-twin engine which produces 54bhp. This means all three Street models will need to be restricted before they are A2 compliant. The restrictor kits can be purchased for £128 and will need to be fitted by a Triumph dealer.
