2011 KTM RC8R first ride - 'Now with twin spark tech'

MCN’s Michael Guy has sent back his first impressions on the new KTM RC8R from the world launch in Spain:

“The previous incarnation of the RC8R had issues with fuelling which caused an abrupt throttle response, but KTM have clearly listen to feedback and done something about it.

“The new RC8R features ‘twin spark technology’ – each cylinder head has 2 spark plugs instead of the usual one, allowing for more efficient combustion and better cam timing.

“That together with improved electronics have made the new bike much more usable with very smooth power delivery, making an already sweet bike even sweeter.

“Just under £13,000 doesn’t sounds like a bargain, but an exotic high-spec european bike for roughly the same price as a Yamaha R1 isn’t too bad at all.”
