Suzuki GS1200SS revamped for 2002

1 of 1

Suzuki’s muscular GS1200SS has been updated only a year on from its Japan-only launch.

The most obvious change is to the fuel tank. It’s now heavily sculpted to give a sportier riding position and make it easier to move around on the bike.

The new matt-black finish with gold wheels and badges adds to the feel of a 1980s special.

If you prefer more traditional colours, Suzuki is also planning a blue and white version based on the classic GSX-R paintscheme.

There’s also a new set of clocks to further enhance the old-fashioned illusion.

The original GS had an analogue rev counter and digital speedo, but the new version sports a pair of analogue dials. A fuel gauge adds some practicality.

Unfortunately, there are still no plans to officially import the GS1200SS into the UK. In the meantime, grey importers could source one for you. In Japan you’d pay around £5100.
