Korean maker launches a ‘proper’ bike

1 of 1

This sporty roadster isn’t Japanese, Italian, British or even German made… it’s from Korea.

The Hyosung GT600 uses the firm’s own twin-cylinder engine and it’s the first time a Korean manufacturer has built what most Western riders would consider a ‘proper’ motorcycle.

And though the firm wouldn’t give anything away, it’s clear they’re working on more than just a 600, suggesting there could be a range of bigger-bore bikes to come.

Although no price has been set the Hyosung GT600 looks like being very cheap and fairly cheerful with prices if the bike comes to the UK expected to be less than £4000.

The GT600’s new engine makes a claimed 65bhp, which puts it up there with a Monster 600 and Suzuki SV650 in power terms.

The bike looks a lot like a Suzuki GS500 with a bit more sports styling including upside down front forks, a sports style seat with separate pillion seat and a high-level chrome exhaust silencer.
